I think, that's the thing The Mist wanna say.
Even protagonist could be wrong. Because he's in the wrong place at the wrong time...

Well... I think this movie is kinda scary.

Think and take your time. One lesson I learnt from here.

Because one action from a person could change the life of many others. And what will you have in the end? Regret.
