5. Stresses in nano phase change films
Short description of the main work areas
Phase change materials are widely applied for optical data storage and solid memory. As the size of the cell scales down to nano, the problem of stress-induced phase change becomes more critical. In this project, the nano phase change films will be deposited under different conditions. The stress will be tested by using optical method, and its effect on phase change behaviour will be characterized. Thermal annealing is also proposed to improve the film quality. 1 draft of paper is expected based on the experimental results.
