gonna miss you all :D haha
yep... i'm still not ready for this exam
Liao Kin's especially... it's just so damn hard to predict the questions

here i come :)

-studying-
besok masih ada 1 biji exam lagi

nama subjectnya sih Advanced Biocomputational Method
tapi isinya ini.. tentang BioInformatics ama Molecular Dynamics
(jadi bisa dibilang... gak nyambung bene
)4 AU bow... (AU = SKS) tapi cuman 50% sih

during this exam period... often got stressed... n pissed off... just by everything

students here always do this mugging thing during exam period
altho some said, there are things more important than just uni's exams
yeah i believe that's true

coz people often forget their friends, their sleep, their meal, and their health during exam... well, this happens here. i dunno how it is in other countries...
but lol
there are 2 types of people here
first...
people study for GPA
people study because of guilty feeling; seeing others studying while they themselves aren't
people study to impress people around them, incl parents mebbe
and second, people who study for self-learning
i believe i'm in the first category

in the case of... 'study because of guilty feeling'

but this sem isn't like last sem...
last sem, i felt really really really guilty if i studied less than 10 hours a day
and often got panicked!
haha
now i realize that it's very stupid of me

well...
wrote so much... because i really have no mood to study
Study Day 8: Part 2
haha.
read Liao Kin's last part... only for 2 hours i think
i dunno what to study... because they all seem similar
aaaaarrrrrrrrrghhh
really no mood to study!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what should i do then
T.T
really really really...
ESTOY MUY ABURRIDO!!!
Study Day 8: No Mood
only 1 paper left, BG3006 Advanced Biocomputational Method
so...
i think it's normal if we don't have the mood to study :P
lol
50% out of 4 AU = 2 AU
syalalalala~~~~
cannot predict what type of questions will Henry be asking
because his part are just so... messy --"
Liao Kin?
even worse!!!
all notes are full of proving this and proving that..
what can i do?
just pray
haha :D

Ramalan~
| Tanggal Lahir | : | 02 November 1987 |
| Hari Lahir | : | Senin |
| Weton (hari tanggalan jawa) | : | Senin Pon |
| Zodiak | : | Scorpio |
| Shio | : | Kelinci |
| Unsur | : | Api |
| Menurut Hari Lahir (Senin) | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
| Menurut Hari Lahir Tanggalan Jawa (Senin Pon) | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
| Menurut Tanggal Lahir (tanggal 2) | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
| Menurut Bulan Lahir (bulan Nopember) | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
| Menurut Zodiak (Scorpio) | ||||||||||||||
| Nomor Keberuntungan: 2, 9, 16, 27, 32, 47 | ||||||||||||||
| Aroma Keberuntungan: Lada Hitam, Kopi, Kayu Pinus, Bunga Sedap Malam | ||||||||||||||
| Planet Yang Mengitari: Mars & Pluto | ||||||||||||||
| Bunga Keberuntungan: Tumbuh-Tumbuhan Yg Berduri | ||||||||||||||
| Warna Keberuntungan: Merah Tua | ||||||||||||||
| Batu Keberuntungan: Batu-Batuan Yang Berwarna Merah Darah | ||||||||||||||
| Elemen Keberuntungan: Air | ||||||||||||||
| Pasangan Serasi: Taurus | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
| Menurut Shio (Kelinci) | ||||||||||||||
| Jam Kelinci: 05.00 - 06.59 | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||
| Warga Kelinci Dari Indonesia: Basuki Abdullah, Achmad Affandi, Ardiansyah, Mooryati Soedibyo, Tuti Indra Malaon, Harry Roesli, Ali Sadikin, Idris Sardi, Dono Warkop, Sudharmono, Amri Yahya, Gubernur Jateng Ismail, Tarida Hutauruk | ||||||||||||||
| Warga Kelinci Dari Negara Lain: Fidel Castro, Albert Einstein, Joseph Stalin, Ratu Victoria, Ingrid Bergman, Bob Hope, Walter Mondale, Frank Sinantra, Pangeran Albert, Idi Amin | ||||||||||||||
| Menurut Unsur (Api) | ||||||||||||||
| ||||||||||||||

i woke up late again
since i know, if i've waken up, i have to study
and i'm too lazy to do that
really, really...
i have to say to myself... i love signal
i love signal processing
despite its fourier transform, fourier series, DFT and FFT..
wat i don't like is Julian's part
don't have any idea what he's talked about so far
still have 26 hours before the exam starts
need to continue Julian's other 3 notes.. after that, start reviewing
lol

i'm just wishing for a B-
it's enough, really.
studying social subjects are so damn hard
that makes me think... that i chose studying Engineering because Engineering is easy.
don't you agree? *i'm asking for engineers-wanna-be*
i mean, you will have an exact answer for engineering.
but for social subjects?
there is no true solution.
all is a matter of probability, not a all-or-none solution.
(haha. just like probabilistic model of memory: prototype model and exemplar model)
soooooooooo?
still around 14 hours before my exam.
will sleep for 8 hours.
2 hours for breakfast-waking up-bathing-shuttlebussing
it means i have 4 hours left for REVIEW
it's not enough... T.T
PILIH GADIS MATEMATIS ATAU GADIS LOGIS?
so damn funny~
berapa lama kemudian, Gadis Logika (L ) datang.
M : Oh terima kasih Tuhan.. Kamu tiba dengan selamat. Eh, gimana pengalamanmu diikuti oleh Pria tadi?
L : Setelah kita berpisah dia mengikuti aku terus.
Ha... Ha... Ha... pasti ngeres yach ???!!! )
Exam Day 2: After
finally... i've passed my Imaging
it sucks.
Zhang Cishen's part....... are just sooooooooooo unpredictable.
i mean... 25 marks for fourier transform n projection slice theorem.
the other 25 marks for THEORY: ultrasound and helical cone beam CT scanning
damn.
hope to get my 25 marks right.
Poh's are just so wonderful. i didn't even believe he asked something like this for 10 marks! his are distributed... nice questions.
i think Zhang Cishen's first question is a very good question, but not the second one. it's bad, and very bad.
having my lunch rite now. chinese from canteen 13, $2 and it's enough.
Exam Day 2: Before
in 3 hour and 26 minutes i'll be having my exam
BG3004 Biomedical Imaging
oh well.
i'm not ready yet... but i just wanna have it ended T.T
please, so that i can continue revising my cognitive in the evening.
is this how it feels to have 2 exams in a row?
sigh.
i'm not fully understand Zhang Cishen's part... especially the CT and Backprojection and Centered Slice Theorem...
just hoping i can do all well.
amen.
target: B
Wednesday, November 21, 2007
(H2)-1: Part 3
i guess i'll just have to re-read all Zhang Cishen's again;
and get to sleep later.
after having a bath, i'm not that dizzy again; but still my hands and feet are cold.
need to finish this disc first. haha. i'm not smart enough to study this imaging... :(
(H2)-1: Part 2
is this because of my unbalanced meal?
my hands and feet are cold.
how come is this happening???
i cannot study.
just finished Zhang Cishen's part, but yet don't understand them.
will continue Poh's after this Grey's Anatomy.
(H2)-1
26 hours before my 2nd exam
and yet, i haven't studied anything
damn.
just watched Grey's Anatomy these days... i want to buy season 2 T.T how come i only watch season 1 and next season 3...
i think tonight Channel 5 will show season 3, dunno which episode
arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh...........
guess i'll just come down to the lounge, the strait times, here i come
after that, continuing BG3004 Biomedical Imaging
how can i finish this... T.T
Zhang Cishen's CT and US is just so damn hard and yet impossible to remember,
well, because i cannot understand a single word i guess
syalalalalla~~
Tuesday, November 20, 2007
Study Day 6 (?)
1 hour for 1 chapter... haizz... it's much more longer than my core subjects
and yet i still don't get the main ideas.
chapter 1>> introspectionism (Wundt) - behaviorism (Watson, Skinner) - language (Chomsky) - cognitive
chapter 2>> methods for studying the brain, CT, MRI, fMRI, TMS, etc
chapter 3>> visual and perception >> ambiguities (indeterminacies: size/distance, shadow/luminance/light, shape/orientation); topdown / bottomup processing
chapter 9>> visual imagery >> imagery affects memory; imagery affects perception; propositions / logogens (verbal representations) vs analogs / imagens (image representations)
chapter 4>> attention >> limitation; filter theories (Broadbent 1958's filter theory, Treisman 1960's attenuation theory, modifiable-filter theory); selection failure (intra: inhibition of return, ironic process of mental control, maintaining vigilance; inter: structural representation limitation, psychological refractory period, blinking)
chapter 5>> memory: sensory memory and short term memory; Baddeley 1974/2001's working memory modal model
damn, i've forgot them all...
Exam Day 1: After
finally i finished 1 exam, 1 core subject
4 AUs out of 25
syalalalala..............
i think i can get B+ or hopefully A- for this exam; it's not that hard,
just confusing, especially Zhu Kuanyi's part.
next, continue for BG3004 Biomedical Imaging and HP206 Cognitive Psychology
i love imaging
i love cognitive
:D
Exam Day 1: BG3002 - Before
will be going to Hall E, 549, in 2 hours and 45 minutes (maybe?)
will have my first exam.
i'm extremely happy right now :D haha.
having my breakfast with a cup of coffee
will have to bring my glass bottle and eye solution maybe later.
lol.
honestly, i'm not confident enough to do this exam.
my target hasn't changed... B, it's enough to make me happy.
altho last2 semesters i always got A for my core; well, not to mention Biomaterial and Effcom / Techcomm
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarhhhhhhhhh
plase............................ in 6 hours, i'll be 10% more happier than i am right now (hopefully).
*woke up late again, sigh..
Monday, November 19, 2007
H-1 day
thank God it's monday.
tomorrow will be my first exam, BG3002 Control in Biosystems
well...
what do i suppose to say?
i haven't understand Poh's last part: how to plot a Nyquist plot...
how is it?
first.............. i have to separate the real and imaginary part.
then, make the formula for |H(jw)| <<< that's the magnitude of the OPEN-LOOP TS.
then, make the formula for < H(jw) = -tan-1 (im/re) <<< that's the direction
then, plotting them on the im-real axis; with w (omega) from 0 to infinity.
also have some difficulties with relative stability
relative stability... the phase and gain **** (damn, i even forgot the term of it...)
ok... let us start again.
from the Nyquist part...
i have to understand!!!
TARGET = B-

Singtel clinches title sponsorship of S'pore F1 race
By Marc Lim
THE world's first Formula One night race will be known as the SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.
Singapore telco SingTel on Friday announced that it had secured the title sponsorship of next year's inaugural Singapore F1 race on Sept 28.
SingTel's Group CEO Chua Sock Koong said the telco was delighted at being a part of history, lending their support to not only Asia's first street race, but the world's first F1 race under the stars.
Said Ms Chua: 'We constantly strive to be at the forefront of our business and the association with this world-first puts the spotlight on our always being at the leading edge through constant innovation.'
SingTel declined to reveal the length of the sponsorship deal. It also did not comment on how much it was worth.
However, The Straits Times understands that about US$10 million (S$14.5 million) was needed to secure the naming rights of the historic race.
The average cost of an F1 race's title sponsorship is about US$8 million.
Spanish bank Banco Santander reportedly forked out US$5.4 million to be given the naming rights of this year's British Grand Prix.
Dutch financial institution ING is also believed to have upped Foster's US$4.5 million annual investment substantially to take over this year's Australian Grand Prix.
Analysts said that it was understandable that the Singapore race would attract a bigger sponsorship, given the novelty of it being the sport's first night race.
Sources added that the goal was always to get a Singapore brand behind the Singapore race.
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone welcomed the news. He added that the sponsorship would 'give SingTel the platform to achieve global recognition of their brand'.
Added Ms Chua: 'The world is watching and this is a great event upon which to position the SingTel brand on an international level, as well as reinforcing Singapore's image as an exciting global city.'

Study Day 5: Part 3
Young and pretty lady wishes to marry a rich guy.
I’m going to be honest of what I’m going to say here. I’m 25 this year. I’m very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I’m greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York . My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married? I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I’ve dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit. If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), $250k annual income is not enough.
I’m here humbly to ask a few questions:
Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
Which age group should I target?
Why most wives of the riches is only average-looking? I’ve met a few girls who doesn’t have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys
How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)
Ms. Pretty
Here’s a reply from a Wall Street Financial guy:
Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyze your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I’m not wasting time here.
From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you’re trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money": Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there’s a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can’t be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It’s not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.
By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position". If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term – same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased". Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you.
I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.
Hope this reply helps. If you are interested in "leasing" services, do contact me.

Study Day 5: Part 2
now, arranging these signal notes... i have to study signals.
the hardest subject this semester... T.T
Poh's parts are much more difficult...
i still confuse bout convolution and correlation
i mean, he's not consistent in giving the correlation examples. i think (as i've read in his notes) that i should have shifted the f(x+n) to the RIGHT, then shifting continuously to the left (increasing positively).
however, in his example and tutorial (that counts 2 so far), he shifted it to the LEFT just as convolution... but without flipping it with respect to the x-axis... then shifting continuously to the right (however, the main n value is NEGATIVE)
damn, i'm so confused... T.T
let us start in 6 minutes...
Study Day 5: Waiting
in the afternoon, hope to shift to BG3003 again
damn, i'm getting worried with my Control BG3002.
i haven't spent any hour studying this subject... this is 4 AU x 0.70 = 2.80 AUs worth...
hope can finish that one in Sunday and Monday, 2 days time.
Study Day 4: Part ...
No se qual parte estudio...
arrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhh
how come i read 1 chapter for 2 hours??????
deductive reasoning and decision making.
still have 1 more chapter (my target in the first place lol) left.
had placed my laundry in the washing machine. will take it back in 30-35 minutes.
hope can finish PROBLEM SOLVING by then.

Study Day 4: Part 2
i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate studying psychology for exam,,,
i prefer having it for fun only
huhu... T.T
bath n get some dinner then,
i hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee studying...
reading the hierarchical of 13 chapters is just so boring!
i haven't even started reading the notes and the textbooks
how... T.T
Study Day 4: Let us Start
Let us start in 15 minutes.
OK, so what must I do to study this subject?
Don't read every lecture notes in order!!!
I've read it in the textbook,
starting reading / studying the notes is the WORST way of studying.
Why?
Because you only understand it from bottom, only by small parts.
Because by reading / studying notes you will become familiar with the subject,
but you will not be tested in familiarity.
I guess this method only works for non-Engineering subjects lol

Engineering subjects must be studied in every part of it.
OK.
No more things to write for now I guess,
let us have breakfast ^^

Why do further study?
Why do further study?
You may decide to undertake further study for a wide range of reasons:
Increase job prospects
Some careers such as law and architecture require further study. In others, undertaking a more specialist postgraduate course will enhance career prospects. We advise that you research your career choice to establish if further study will increase your employability.
Provide extra confidence
Many postgraduate students feel they have something extra to offer employers, which gives them greater confidence when they are job seeking.
Love of the subject
What could be better than making a career out of the subject you love? Further study is an investment of both time and money; consider how the course may fit into your long-term career plans.
Facilitate an academic career
If you want to lecture or research further into your subject, a postgraduate course will help you achieve your goal. Further qualifications are usually a prerequisite for an academic career. Examine what courses are available in your area and talk to others already working in your field.
Help career conversion
Fancy a complete change? Want to be a teacher or move into business and management? It is possible to study a completely different subject at postgraduate level. Some students complete a non-vocational first degree and through further study, convert towards particular career areas. Some courses do not require a first degree (such as an MBA where relevant experience can apply) so it is important to fully understand your options.
When is the best time to undertake further study?
You can undertake further study at any time that feels right for you. It will often depend on the course and financial issues. For specialist academic courses, your undergraduate knowledge base may be important. Some postgraduate courses benefit from, or even require a period of relevant work experience, for example the MBA and social work courses. However with increasingly flexible study patterns and the availability of part time courses, it is possible to combine work with study.
Study Day 3: Part 3
OK.
I fell asleep (again!) in the middle... for around 30 minutes. It's just because I felt veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy sleepy n I cannot stand it...
Then, what should I write for now?

On Eagles' Wings
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord
who abide in His shadow for life
say to the Lord
"My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!"
And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
bear you on the breath of dawn
make you to shine like the sun
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you
and famine will bring you no fear
under His wings your refuge
His faithfulness your shield.
And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
bear you on the breath of dawn
make you to shine like the sun
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
You need not fear the terror of the night
nor the arrow that flies by day
though thousands fall about you
near you it shall not come.
And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
bear you on the breath of dawn
make you to shine like the sun
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
For to His angels He's given a command
to guard you in all of your ways
upon their hands they will bear you up
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
bear you on the breath of dawn
make you to shine like the sun
and hold you in the palm of His hand...

| NUS drops from 19 to 33 in global rankings | |
| But shift is due to new method of compilation, NUS' low staff-to-student ratio | |
| By Sandra Davie, Education Correspondent | |
| THE National University of Singapore (NUS) took a tumble, from 19th spot to No. 33 this year, in the ranking of the world's top 200 universities published by The Times of London Higher Education Supplement on Thursday. However, this is due to a new way of scoring, said QS, the careers and education group that compiled the much-followed ranking. It said, with the change, NUS' previously high scores in certain categories such as the percentage of international faculty, did not give it much overall advantage this year. On the other hand, NUS' low score on staff- to-student ratio affected its ranking. Mr Nunzio Quacquarelli, managing director of London-based QS, said NUS continues to do well in all other categories. NUS improved its score this year for the number of academic citations faculty members notched up. It scored 84 out of 100 here. 'There is no doubt it is one of the elite universities of the world,' said Mr Quacquarelli. 'NUS and NTU's placing in the top 100 are recognition of the quality of education that Singapore's universities offer.' Nanyang Technological University (NTU) ranked No. 69 this year, down from its 61st spot last year. Singapore Management University is not ranked because of its specialisation in business. There are six categories. Forty per cent of the total score depends on what academics from around the world think of the universities; while global employers' keenness to recruit their graduates counts for 10 per cent. The numbers of foreign students and staff a university attracts are worth 5 per cent each; and the ratios of students to staff and academic citations to staff count for 20 per cent each. NUS president Shih Choon Fong said: 'NUS still has good standing' as one of the top 50 universities and as one of the top five in Asia. He said NUS will continue to 'enhance students' experience and push for world class research'. He pointed out that NUS' effort in improving research is already showing in the citation score. On the staff-student ratio, he said many universities in the United States have significantly higher budgets and endowments and can thus afford to keep their enrolments low and faculty counts high. He added: 'We don't want to go and hire more faculty just to boost the numbers. We want to ensure they are top quality in their field.' NUS currently has a 1,944-strong faculty, of which 52 per cent are from overseas. Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford and Yale universities maintained their top four positions for the second year. University College London and the University of Chicago join the top 10 for the first time. Apart from NUS, the London School of Economics was also affected by the scoring changes, dropping from 17th last year to 59th this year. Stanford fell from sixth to 19th. The universities of Tokyo, Hong Kong, Kyoto, Beijing, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua and Osaka were other Asian institutions in this year's top 50. Mr Martin Ince, contributing editor of The Times Higher Education Supplement, noted: 'The 2007 rankings show that the US and UK model of independent universities supported with significant state funding, produces great results, but they also prove that academic excellence is found on every continent.' | |

Exam Schedule #2
Now let us come to the fact that I have 7 exams in 10 days.
This is the worst exam timetable I've ever had... I think last semester it's 7 exams in 15 days, I've got some time to rest =|
However, I have to prepare from now on... I know it's too late.
People here in NTU has started studying 3 months before... Not like Indonesians, who start a month before... Not like me, a week before... (--")

-birthday-
Although it's not my original plan to go to Vivo to meet you guys... Firstly, I thought I would be stuck here in NTU doing my Spanish assignment. Luckily, it's not, yey xD
Thanks for inviting me, and thanks for still welcoming me even though I rejected it for the first time being, haha.
Thanks also for waiting for me... I knew you were so hungry yesterday, but you just kept waiting for me and didn't eat in the first place... > hey I know I'm the birthday girl, so it must be special to wait for me lol xD
Really, really, really...
Aiya, I wonder, do we always have to blow candles in the birthday day?
I really had no idea.
Thanks for holding those candles for me, you guys also had a 'gift' right? The pinky pinky candles solution... *i have no idea what it is called... I left my dictionaries to Evin >.<
And you're still the one who bring me the cake, lol, just like what you've promised me a few times before.
Thanks guys...
But I'm still 20... Gonna have to disturb you all in my 21, haha.
Perhaps we can go to Casino next year ;)
